Rockwood Prez rocks the runway at the Heart Truth Fashion Show

Calgary, February 11, 2017 – Valentine’s Day is not all about chocolates and flowers… it’s also about hearts. Women’s hearts. The Heart and Stroke Foundation held its Heart Truth Fashion Show this Saturday at Calgary’s stunning Eighth Avenue Place, bringing attention to the very important issue of women’s heart health. Heart and stroke disease is one of the leading causes of death in Canadian women and 100 per cent of the evening’s proceeds went directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Fashion paired with education as some of Calgary’s leading ladies strutted their stuff on the runway, wearing top fashions by Canadian fashion designers. These custom red dresses were made specifically for the occasion and adorned 15 lovely and inspiring Calgarians, including Rockwood’s president, Allison Grafton. Amongst other outfits, Allison wore a beautiful red and gold number designed by Malika Rajani, designer and owner of MALIKA Couture, a brand that creates clothing for conscious, modern women and is inspired by a blend of her traditional Indian roots and contemporary style.

And while fashion dominated the runway at Saturday’s festivities, the evening was truly about charity and raising funds for a worthy organization. Both Allison and Rockwood Custom Homes are passionate about heart health and are supporters of the cause.
