Allison Grafton speaks out during Women’s History Month 2014

Every October since 1992, Canada celebrates Women's History Month. It is the month where Canadians are urged to recognize and celebrate contributions of women to Canadian society and to recognize their achievements as part of our Canadian heritage.

The theme for the 2014 Women’s History Month was “Canadian Business Women – A Growing Economic Force.” As a highly successful Canadian female entrepreneur, president of Rockwood Custom Homes, Allison Grafton, was chosen to participate in Women’s History Month, helping to demonstrate how empowering women to succeed benefits Canadian women and helps to grow and diversify our economy.

The Minister of Labour and the Minister of Status of Women, Kellie Leitch, invited Allison to be interviewed and provide some commentary about her experiences as a successful female business woman in Canada. Videos were produced by the Status of Women Canada organization, a federal government organization that promotes equality for women and their full participation in the economic, social and democratic life of Canada.

Congratulations, Allison, on being recognized as part of Canada’s celebration of Women’s History.
